Legor acquires 100% of GLOMAX and strengthens its presence in functional chemistry for industry

The transaction completes the Group’s surface treatment offering and strengthens its presence in industrial, decorative and functional applications.

Bressanvido (VI), 27 July 2026 – Legor Group S.p.A., a Benefit Corporation specialising in the transformation of metals into alloys, powders and electroplating solutions, announces the acquisition of 100% of GLOMAX S.r.l.

The transaction strengthens the Group’s presence in functional chemistry for industry and completes its surface treatment offering, combining the expertise developed in the jewellery and fashion sectors with GLOMAX’s industrial specialisation.

Founded in 1993 and operating a production facility in Bellusco, in the province of Monza and Brianza, GLOMAX develops and manufactures chemical solutions for the treatment of metal surfaces, ranging from pre-treatment and anti-corrosion processes to functional, decorative and aluminium-specific applications. The company serves industries including automotive, furniture and design, aerospace, construction, electrical and electronics.

The integration of the two companies’ technical, production and research expertise will enable Legor to offer industrial customers more comprehensive solutions, greater development capabilities and technical support even more closely aligned with the specific application requirements of its target markets.

A vertical, multi-brand strategy

The acquisition forms part of Legor’s strategy to build a multi-brand Group comprising specialised companies focused on specific markets.

Legor will continue to oversee its core jewellery business; Valmet will serve as the specialist hub for electroplating solutions for the fashion industry, while GLOMAX will become the Group’s platform dedicated to industrial, decorative and functional applications.

This model is based on specialisation, customer proximity and the sharing of expertise, research and production capabilities.

“The acquisition of GLOMAX consistently completes our positioning in surface treatments and enables us to enter the industrial functional chemistry market with a more focused approach,” says Massimo Poliero, CEO of Legor Group. “We aim to enhance GLOMAX’s expertise and market knowledge by making Legor’s research and development capabilities, quality standards and long-term vision available to the company, creating value through high-performance solutions and technical support closely aligned with customer needs.”

Innovation and sustainability in functional chemistry

The collaboration between the Legor and GLOMAX R&D teams will focus on developing formulations with a lower environmental impact, optimising electroplating processes and promoting a more responsible use of resources, including through potential partnerships with universities, research institutes and technology centres.

“Joining Legor Group marks the beginning of a new phase of development for GLOMAX, while preserving the expertise and close connection with the market that have always defined our history,” says Umberto Spina, CEO of GLOMAX S.r.l. “Sharing knowledge, resources and research capabilities will allow us to strengthen our offering and support industrial customers with increasingly innovative and reliable solutions, with greater attention to the sustainability of both processes and the environment.”

Legor intends to apply the same approach to industrial functional chemistry that characterises its activities in the jewellery and fashion sectors: combining technical expertise, innovation and sustainability to support customers in achieving more efficient and responsible processes.

The Group’s metal refining activities further complement this approach by encouraging resource recovery and greater circularity throughout the supply chain.
