Legor among the key contributors to the “Wet Coatings” course by AIM
On July 1st and 2nd, the course “Wet Coatings” will be held, organized by the Surface Coatings and Tribology Study Center of AIM – the Italian Association for Metallurgy, with the participation of Legor. The course will take place at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
This module, now a well-established part of the AIM Coatings Training Series, provides a comprehensive overview of galvanic electrodeposition processes — both decorative and functional — as well as electroless plating, anodizing, and zinc coating. It also covers more advanced technologies that are increasingly adopted in industrial applications, such as plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) and sol-gel deposition.
Among the speakers will be Martino Gardan, Innovation & Product Portfolio Manager (PL) Fashion at Legor, who will present on Wednesday, July 2nd, sharing Legor’s expertise in the field of electroplating. His talk will feature practical and applied examples of decorative Cu, Ni, and Cr electrodeposition, with real-case applications for fashion accessories and costume jewelry, as well as for the automotive and furniture sectors — with a special focus on aesthetic performance, corrosion resistance, and sustainable production cycle optimization.
An unmissable opportunity to explore the future of these industries through galvanic finishes. A moment of exchange and discussion among technicians, graduate students, and PhD candidates to discover how innovation and creativity can redefine the boundaries of design.
