Legor excels in ESG performance according to Confindustria Research

In its continuous journey of transformation and improvement, Legor has chosen to participate in Confindustria Vicenza’s project “Sustainability: Guidelines for Companies 2024,” aimed at measuring the level of sustainability initiatives implemented within local businesses. Legor achieved excellent results in the ESG, across various areas.

The project, initiated through a collaboration between Confindustria Vicenza and the Department of Management at the University of Verona, involved 12 companies in the gold and silver sectors and 309 companies regionally. Participants completed a self-assessment questionnaire designed to capture the state of sustainability within the local business landscape, with the goal of providing targeted support and services tailored to their needs.

From the analysis of the responses—allowing companies to address the four sustainability dimensions (Prosperity, Planet, People, and Governance)—Legor stood out by significantly exceeding both sector and regional averages in multiple areas.

In particular, the company excelled in environmental aspects, scoring 4.8 out of 5 in both pollution prevention and reduction as well as sustainable resource use, surpassing sector averages of 4.2 and 3.5, respectively. Legor’s environmental management systems also achieved the highest score, reflecting a strong commitment to minimizing environmental impacts. Furthermore, its efforts in climate change mitigation (4.4) were notably above the sector average of 2.5.

The company also demonstrated strong results in social and labor practices, achieving the highest scores in areas such as occupational health and safety, professional development and training, and gender equity and social inclusion. In governance, Legor’s focus on transparency, ethics, integrity, and sustainable governance further distinguished it from others in the sector.

Data from this study confirms that our commitment to sustainability is leading us in the right direction. We will continue to strive to increase our positive impact on society and the environment, encouraging more companies like ours to follow this path.
